I am having a very unusual overheating problem.
Car: Honda, Civic, 1987 - Back to Fix-It - Honda Civic Repair Manuals
Q.Hello I have a 87 honda civic crx dx with a carb 1500 engine. I am having a very unusual overheating problem. Originally the car overheated.
So I changed the thermostat. still overheated, then I took the Therostat out, still overheated, Then I noticed the fan wasn''t kicking on so I jumpered it, Nothing worked, I thought maybe it was the head gasket so I did a comp. test. !50 in all cylinders. I also flushed the cooling system every way I could. I thought the only thing it could be was the water pump, so I put a new one in still overheating. Also oddly enough it seems intermittant. Currently I have the thermostat out and the fan jumpered, I took it for a ride last night for about 20 minutes and it stayed really cool. Then on my 15 minute ride to work going up a hill it over heated. So after work I filled it up and left and it overheated right away. I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me.
More Info required Is it using coolant?
