For some reason if I plug in the MAP Sensor the car will idle rough and die.

Q.For some reason if I plug in the MAP Sensor the car will idle rough and die. If I run the car without the MAP sensor it will run fine and idle smoothly, but I know that this burns too much fuel and there is a big lack of power plus no VTEC w/o the MAP Sensor.
I bought a used MAP sensor from the junk yard and tried a MAP sensor from the same make and model car and nothing works! Can somebody give me some advice?
