Does anyone know if I can bolt up a D16 tranny with a D15 Engine?

Yes the d16 and the d15 are both d series motors. Any d series trans will bolt up to a d series motor. You just have to watch between cable clutch and hydrolic clutch, but you don't have anything to worry about with the question you posted. It will work
