I just bought an '84 CRX 1.3 in Detroit. The guy was asking $1,300 and we settled at $1,000. It's a great car, all working mechanical, etc., and no rust as it was driven primarily in California. 115,000 which is not too bad for a car that old. I tried and tried and tried to research what I should have to pay for the car. KBB only goes back to 1987. What I ended up doing was researching all the CRX or CRX-si's (not HFs, they're much more valuable) from '87 til they quit making them. They averaged only about $215/year appreciation. So, I started at '87 and figured backwards $215 each year. I think the '87 was like $1,100 for "good" quality. Well, on paper the car ended up being like $250. I offered him $800 but I can't say I blame him for holding me to $1,000 as he'd put quite a bit of work into it. Oh, I did try to do some research on Ebay and people were asking like $2,500-$3,000. But that's Ebay for you. Hope this helps.
