my 87 accord is a carb'd 5spd manual, when its cold it high idles anywhere from 2200-2800 ..

When your car idles...It must warm up first. An '87 starting at 2500 RPMS is VERY GOOOD. You do not want to lower the RPMS any lower. You have to wait for the car to warm up properly. It's not going to be like a newer car. Your car is perfectly fine.

CARS ARE NOT FINE WINES. THEY DO NOT GET BETTER WITH AGE.
