I noticed this on my 92 legend @ approx 85k and I considered replacing with the T belt @ 120k.when I asked the service manager if this was a sign of impending failure he said it would probably not ever fail but at 215K when I replaced the belt before giving the car to my daughter I changed it and the melting has not yet reoccured (250k).My 98 3.5 RL is just now starting to show up by dripping on the oil filter at 150k and I don't plan to replace itunless something changes my mind.
