Transmission hesitates and does not engage into gear after a stop
Car: Acura, MDX, 2002 - Back to Fix-It - Acura Repair Manuals
Q.when my 2002 acura MDX has been running for a while, the transmission hesitates and does not engage into gear after a stop. What can the problem be?
Answer this is unfortunaltly becoming a very common issue for the mdx. The problem is the trans is internally shot. The clutches are worn to the point that they no longer engage like they are supposed to. The syptoms look like this when cool everything is fine and once heated up you no longer able to move in gear. You will need to have the trans replaced as this is the only way to eleviate this issue...sorry for the bad news as this is likely not what you wanted to hear...
