MY EPC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALWAYS COMES ON IN RAIN

Car: Audi, RS4, 2007, 4.2L QUATTRO     -    Back to Fix-It    -    Audi Repair Manuals

Q.MY EPC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALWAYS COMES ON IN RAIN, I HAVE CHANGED MY EXHAUST TO A MILTEK FULL CAT BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM, WITH A BMC FILTER, AND RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS TAKEN OUT WHEN IT WENT FOR A PERFORMANCE UPGRADE, I DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM MAY BE WHETHER ITS THE EXHAUST OR THE PERFORMANCE PROGRAMME OR THE CATS BEEN TAKEN OUT OR MAYBE JUST ALL, CAN YOU SUGEST TO WHAT IT IS THAT I CAN DO TO GET THIS PROBLEM SORTED OUT?

Answer This may seem obvious but.. you need to look at your tires.
I believe that you may have tires that are worn out. You have a lot of torque (and horsepower) and with the modifications that you have made it is no problem to spin the tires, especially in the wet. If the tires are less than 3mm in tread depth and/or 2 years old, then I am reasonably certian that this is your problem. There shouldn't be anything involved with your upgrades that can, in anyway, cause the traction control to activate.
