Q.My 2005 Accord is just hitting 30,000 miles. What should I do service wise? My dealer wants $440 for the 30k Honda service ... seems like a rip-off to me. Is it worth going elsewhere or doing less (i. e just have an ASE garage 1) change oil, tranny, brake and coolant (haven''t had that done once yet) 2) rotate and balance tires 3) replace wipers? Do hinges need to be lubed? Brake fluid flushed? City driving. What is best maintenance to do at 30K?

I already checked/done: Just want to know how to take care of car properly and not spend money on things I don't need.

Answer This is a list of what a 30k service it isn't a bad idea to service trans also if it is an automatic although Honda says to do it at 60 then every 30 if you have any other questions feel free to ask

2005 ACCORD - Maintenance Schedule for Normal Conditions
30,000 miles/ 48,000 km/ 2 years
'03-05 Models
Follow the Normal Schedule if the severe driving conditions specified in the Maintenance Schedule for Severe Conditions do not apply, and if only OCCASIONALLY driven in severe driving conditions. Follow the Severe Conditions schedule if the vehicle is driven MAINLY in Canada.
