Looking for ref. material to do the head gasket
Car: Acura, Legend, 1991 - Back to Fix-It - Acura Legend Repair Manuals
Q.Like most people I have talked to about my 91 legend it over heats. I have started to tak it apart to replace the head gasket. Where can I find good referance material with instructions and acurate illistrations to assist me in this task?
I already checked/done: I have started taking the engine apart. The wiring harness is of and labled. I have takin all the bolts off that I can see but the intake still will not come off. I want to find a manual, set of instructions, or web site that will break down the job step by step with good illistrations that is not going to cost me a whole lot if anything. Just in case my original question was lost I am trying to chage the head gaskets.
Answer Here are directions:
Exhaust manifolds:
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the exhaust manifold shrouds.
Remove the exhaust pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
Remove the oxygen sensors.
Remove the air suction tube.
Remove the exhaust pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
Clean the gasket mounting surfaces. Inspect the manifold for cracks, flatness and/or damage; replace the parts, if necessary.
Remove the exhaust attaching nuts in a crass-cross pattern starting from the center of the manifold.
