If the timing belt breaks on a 96 RL, will it damage the engine?
Car: Acura, RL, 1996, 3.5L - Back to Fix-It - Acura Repair Manuals
Q.If the timing belt breaks on a 96 RL, will it damage the engine?
Answer It is not a certainty that
damage will occur if the timing belt breaks but your engine IS an interference engine and the possibility is there. A lot depends on vehicle speed, engine speed and the position the cam shafts are in when the belt stops driving them.
