I'm told at 98,000 Km I now need a TIMING BELT?
Car: Acura, EL, 2004 - Back to Fix-It - Acura Repair Manuals
Q.I'm told at 98,000 Km I now need a TIMING BELT. I see in the States you can buy one for $13.00 to $25.00 US. With shipping and US exchange, what should I reasonably except as a total cost up here in Canada for total, including installation? By the way I am still under warranty!
My Acura dealer about $600.00 for this job.
More Info required The prices you mentioned sound like an aftermarket belt pricing. I would not recommend one of these as they are of lesser quality. I recommend only the Genuine Honda brand.
It is also recommended to replace the water pump when replacing the timing belt.
I can give you some information on this, but as for a labor quote, this would be impossible as labor rates vary from shop to shop.
I can however give you some parts prices and labor times if that would be sufficient?
