Q.I have a 2003 Acura tl type 2 new NGK Idrium Plugs new coil packs and am getting p1399 ramdom misfire. How can I clean the EGR value where is it located. I have a 300.00 OBDII and live read out show o2 senors values are of cat. ok?? Please help. I have injector cleaner in it now this just started after I ran some new gas 93 grade. I usually use shell this was Wilco. Could that be the problem??
Answer What happens when the EGR system plugs up the passages in the intake get plugged up. To clean the EGR passages you will need to remove the plate on the top of the intake manifold to gain acess to the passages. You can use drill bits by hand to clean out the passages of carbon.
Age is the normal cause of the system plugging up and can not be helped fop the most part.
