Car goes into limp home mode
Car: Audi, Allroad, 2002, 2.5tdi - Back to Fix-It - Audi Repair Manuals
Q.Hi i have a 2002 audi allroad 2.5 tdi auto. When selecting drive from reverse all gears are illuminated in a red band on display and goes into limp home mode. If i switch off and on again it will continue to drive normally untill i next select reverse then drive then the fault reoccurs. Would this be the a fault possibly connected with the oil level in auto box and could you advise me on what oil i need to replace with as i cannot find this info anywhere. regards David.
I already checked/done: plug in to fault codes
Answer Your transmission has gone into "limp" mode. A program that has been designed into your vehicle to alert you that there is a problem with the transmission. The range display illumination is reversed, the letters are no longer illuminated and the background is now illuminated, usually the other way around.
The transmission control module needs to be scanned with a VW/Audi capable scanner for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) to determine the affected circuit that has caused the system to go into limp mode. Further testing, diagnosis and repair would be dictated by the specific DTC(s) retrieved. If you return here with the DTC.. >> login for more
