Q.Can the bands on the trany of 1999 Honda Accord DX be adjusted? The car is having a difficult time going into gear.
Answer No there are no adjustments its a sealed unit. There are numerous issues with these transmission failing internally causing this issue. There was even a warranty extension on these transmissions for 7 years 105,000 miles there were so many problems. Unfortunately you will need to replace the transmission to fix this issue. Make sure the fluid is not low. You can try draining and filling the unit a few times to see if that helps but doubtful.
