emergency brake would not disengage
Car: Honda, Accord EX, 2006, 3.0L - Back to Fix-It - Honda Accord EX Repair Manuals
Q.2006 Honda Accord EX Coupe (6-speed). This morning (temp ~34 deg F), I was not able to drive my car because my emergency brake would not disengage (emergency brake handle had no tension until it was pulled almost all the way up). What is the likely problem/cause?
Answer I have yet to see a bad (corroded) E-brake cable so I suspect that one or both calipers in the rear are sticking.
There is a worm gear mechanism that operates the E-brake and they do sometimes get corroded and will not allow the brake to release.
