Changing pads on Brembo brakes.

Car: Acura, TL, 2004, 3.2     -    Back to Fix-It    -    Acura TL Repair Manuals

Q.2004 Acura TL, manual transmission Brembo brakes. Rotors are smooth and do not shudder. Pads are worn. How to remove the pins in order to remove the pads? What tools are necessary to complete the job safely. What tools are necessary to spread left and right dual pistons? What are the specs of the proper tools and where can they be purchased if they are special? Thanks, Jim D.

I already checked/done: I removed the wheel. Possess manual, but am not sure of special tools to remove pins on Brembo Brake system. Have not disassembled anything yet. Need tools specifications and procedures. Have changed brake pads and rotors on numerous standard brake systems. Brembo are unique as you know.

Answer The pins push out from the back side of the caliper and i use 2 screw drivers to walk the pistons back in and then lube the slide pins with the brembo grease.
