Car: Acura, TL, 2003, 3.2L - Back to Fix-It - Acura TL Repair Manuals
Q.2003 acura tl base model transmission transmission, can hear bands, slips a little. should i do an overhaul, band kit or rebuild it and how will it last?
Answer Hi! This vehicle has clutch pack kits instead of bands. I would recommend a rebuild or purchasing a remanufactured unit from Honda. I would definately not try a used one as I see these fail very often.
Most customers get around 150,000 miles with proper service and genuine Honda transmission fluid.
