2000 mitsubishi eclipse sunroof won't open.

Q.The motor is working but when you push the button the sunroof won't pop up. If you push it up then you can slide it back but then when you try to close it the sunroof stops then you have to push the button again several times to close it.
I already checked/done: Replaced motor and greased tracks
Answer This sounds like an issue with the switch itself, here is the instructions for the switch removal and another test you can perform. Switch:
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the switch cover.
Disconnect and remove the sunroof switch panel assembly.
Remove the sunroof switch.
Installation is the reverse order of removal.
Remove the sunroof fuse and connect an ammeter as shown in the illustration.
Press the sunroof switch to operate the sunroof, and then measure the operation current while the roof lid glass is moving (except when the sunroof starts to operate, when it is fully open, when it is fully closed and w.. >> login for more
