1999 Ford F150 died
Car: Ford, F-150, 1999 - Back to Fix-It - Ford Repair Manuals
Q.1999 Ford F150 4.6 V-8. Recently when driving my truck just died. I was able to get it restarted by unplugging the mas sensor, and got the beast home. Since then, I have run the gamut of troubleshooting..
I replaced both 02 sensors, the mass sensor, new wires from the mass sensor, new AR valve, new idle control valve, checked/switched relays, change the fuel filter.
Now all the truck does is start, run a bit, and die randomly.
You take off, it falls flat on its face, knocks, pings and dies. Only able to get it home again by disconnecting mas senor. It isn't throwing any codes, and the mas senor is an after market. No water in the gas filter.
Answer This sounds intresting!! When you unplug the maf, does the truck run just fine, or does it still run rough, but stays running? And what is the ar valve? Try disconecting the egr valve vacuum line. When you fill up the fuel on the vehicle, do you keep running it even after the pump shuts it off? Keep topping it off?
