Q.1998 acura rl-the check engine light is on, the 2 codes read that the egr flow insufficent. We replaced the egr valve with a honda part. The check engine light will not stay off. It will not pass emission inspection.

I already checked/done: We've replaced the egr valve after trying to clean it. Ran i 1 bottle of sea foam through engine.

Answer Hi,
Two main causes of this code: faulty EGR valve and clogged EGR port in the intake manifold. Since you have replaced the EGR valve and still are getting the same fault code(s), you will need to remove the intake manifold and thoroughly clean out the EGR port, running seafoam or some other cleaner thru it at this point will not get all the carbon deposits out.
