Over 2K RPM my Volvo has no power
Car: Volvo, 740, 1985, B240F - Back to Fix-It - Volvo Repair Manuals
Q.1985 Volvo 740 B240F non-turbo engine, LH-jetronic 2.2 injection, and EZ-117K ignition. always starts & idles well.
Runs strong EXCEPT at unexpected times at cruising speed it will miss a little then lose power. will run OK below 2000 RPM but when you push accelerator down it acts like starving for fuel / no power. Shut off for a few minutes, re-start and runs fine.
Entire fuel checked OK. I have checked everything in the service manual & everything within spec''s. Any ideas?
Answer If you have checked the fuel system and all is as you say OK.. then it has to be ignition.
Ignition coils use to fail intermittently on these -- I would suspect that - they get hot and fail.. replace it and see how that goes
