DTC Troubleshooting: P0409 (12)
DTC P0409: EGR Valve Position Sensor Circuit Voltage Malfunction
NOTE: If DTC P0405 or P0406 is stored at the same time as DTC P0409, troubleshoot DTC P0405 or P0406 first, then recheck for DTC P0409.
1.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2.Check the EGR VLS in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is about 0.6 V or less indicated?
YES - Go to 4.
NO - Go to 3.
3.Check the EGR VLS in the DATA LIST with the HDS once again.
Is about 1.7 V or higher indicated?
YES - Go to 4.
NO - Go to 11.
4.Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Replace the EGR valve.
6.Turn the ignitions
