Transmission and starting problems
Car: Acura, CL, 2001, 3.2 - Back to Fix-It - Acura Repair Manuals
Q.I have 2001 Acura 3.2CL Type S and I am have transmission and starting problems. The transmission is slipping and almost undriveable. The transmission was repaired or replaced over two years ago. I believe the transmission is also causing the engine to overheat. The starting problem is when the car is hot and seems like a fuel supply problem. Mileage 133000.
Answer ok you are looking at a couple of different issues.
With the trans issue is the check engine light on? As for the starting problem while hot there is actually a bulletin on this issue the recommends replaceing the fuel pressure regulator and ecm.
Depending on how generous you local dealership is you may be able to get these issues taken care at a reduced rate or a partial split on the parts and work. I would ask the dealer if they could help you out somehow with your trans issue and with the trans they should get a new fuel regualtor and ecm along with it to be installed at the time the work is being done..Also have you .. >> login for more
