Q.How do you replace the rear brake pads on a 2004 Hyundai Sonata? Is this something that I can do Myself, or are specially tools required?
Answer Replacing the rear pads on your hyundai is fairly easy.
The only difference between the front pad replacement and rear, is that the rear calipers have the parking brake actuators built into them, therefore the pistons must be turned clockwise while compressing them with a special tool. There are 2 bolts that need to be removed to remove the caliper. The piston then needs to be pushed in and turned at the same time using the special tool available at any auto part store. Then simply install the pads and you are good to go. If you do not want to buy the tool, sometimes you can turn the calipers with a screwdriver or needle n.. >> login for more
