Rear Hatch Stuck, Help me with it as a do it yourself solution

Q.I have a 2003 Suzuki Aerio SX AWD and the rear hatch is stuck. I have tried opening it with the hatch's handle and I've tried using the key as well because I don't have the automatic trunk opener and nothing has worked. The latch will move but will not click over to open it. It felts like something is stuck within the part where it latches and that's why it will not open. Is there any way to fix it without taking it to an auto machanic?
