Q.my car is a 94 civic and the check engine light is on and it has a irregular idle. how do i check the codes on it since it is an obd1 operating system?
Answer Hi,
Below are directions:
For all the conditions listed, the PGM-FI warning light on the dashboard must be on (comes on and stays on). This indicates a problem in the electrical portion of the fuel injection system. At that time, check the LED display (self-diagnosis system) in the ECU/ECM.
There is only one LED display. The LED will blink consecutively to indicate the trouble code. The ECU/ECM is located beneath the access panel, under the carpet on the passengers side of the vehicle. Access the ECU, turn the ignition to on and count times the LED blinks. On 2 digit codes, there will be a 3 second pause between 1st and 2n.. >> login for more
