I have a grinding sound coming from front passenger area
Car: Honda, Fit Sport, 2007 - Back to Fix-It - Honda Repair Manuals
Q.I have a grinding sound coming from my 07 Fit, front passenger area (29.7K miles). Dealership says it needs a brake job. I doubt it. I am not a hard driver. How long should I expect to go before needing a brake job?
Answer A lot of it depends on the driving style of the person and the conditions they drive in, but a general range is 25-35000 miles usually is the range where people start having to do brake jobs on these.
How many miles do you have? Honda does make a softer brake compound so sometimes they wear faster than you would think. Also sometimes the metal backing plate behind the brake rotor can rub up against the rotor and make a grinding type of sound, so that would be worth checking.
