Tranny issue
Car: Acura, MDX, 2002, 3.5L - Back to Fix-It - Acura Repair Manuals
Q.I have a 2002 MDX. Tranny issues are well documented for this make model year. The vehicle is having trouble in the 40-50 mph range. Im worried I'm going to drop the tranny. With as well documented as the issue is, I think Acura should stand behind it. I have 91K miles, so I'm far out of warranty but not exceessive by any means. What's your thoughts?
Answer There are some trans problems on these but not as many as the TL. There are some EGR problems as well that will effect the car in the 40-50mph range that feel just like a trans shudder. The best way to approach Acura with this is to have a local dealer request "goodwill " from Acura for the repair. They will do more for a dealer request these days than if you just call and ask for a new transmission.
