Oil leak from the valve cover

Car: Acura, Integra LS, 1997, 4cyl.     -    Back to Fix-It    -    Acura Integra LS Repair Manuals

Q.Hi - My wife has an 1997 Acura Integra LS - I noticed recently after her oil change (done dec. 21, 09) that there was oil leaking from the valve cover area - So I pulled out the dipstick and noticed the oil line was over the fill line at least the distance between the high + low holes(about 3/4") - This car takes 3.6 quarts - Looked like Quickie oil change guy put in around 5 qts a month ago - Would this be the cause of the leaks? And what to do now? I took it back to the guy and he checked the oil right after car was turned off - said that it wasn't too bad - mean while all oil had not drained yet! - After denying that it was not his fault -and then my wife threatening w/ legal counsel - he later said to me on the phone that if I buy the valve cover gasket + seal he would do the repairs.(he said they would cost around 30 buxs) - He said he would normally charge $90 for the gasket/seal repair job. Is this a job for Quickie 10 minute Oil Change? Thanks, Steve.

Answer The valve cover gasket is not hard to do so i wouldn't hesitate to have them replace it.
I would also make sure they drain the oil to the proper level as well.
Plus its a good idea to keep them involved as they will be even more careful to keep you satisfied. If you have further question feel free to rely.
