Problem with the cooling fans.

Car: Acura, Integra, 1993, 1.8     -    Back to Fix-It    -    Acura Integra Repair Manuals

Q.Hi, I have a 1993 Acura Integra 1.8 engine with a manual transmission. My problem that I have is with the cooling fans. They just don't turn on as my car is hot. However, my fans do work when I turn on the a/c and I have also jumped the connector to the engine coolant temperature switch and the fans turn on. I have replaced the thermostat, the sensor on the thermostat housing, temperature sending unit and coolant temperature sensor. What could be the problem?

Answer First thing check ground 101 on the thermostat housing make sure its clean and tight.
Heres the wiring diagram of the fan circuit with out the a/c on click HERE the yellow green wire at the temp switch should have voltage with the key "on" .
If you ground this wire the fan should run if not chek the fuse. Let me know what hapens.
