90K mile tune-up procedure.
Car: Acura, MDX, 2001 - Back to Fix-It - Acura Repair Manuals
Q.Before I went on vacation I had a 90K mile tune-up. I had to replace the EGR valve in Armarillo and then had to replace the Idle Air Control valve plus the EGR valve was clogged in Asheville. Were these items part of the 90K tune up.
Answer Those items are not part of a normal 90,000 mile service.
An idle air control valve can fail at any given time and is not replaced as a maintanence item.
As far as 2 egr replacements that is wrong. There is a port inside the intake manifold which plugs up over time. There is a kit the dealer can install where after enlarging the EGR port/passage a stainless steel sleeve is installed to help prevent the port from plugging up again.
