I replaced the break pads and car takes a little longer to stop
Car: Honda, Accord EX, 2001 - Back to Fix-It - Honda Accord EX Repair Manuals
Q.1. I replaced the break pads on my 2001 Honda Accord EX V6. Now the car takes a little longer to stop. Does this mean I have air in the break line? How do I correct it?
2. How do I tighten the parking break?
Answer Did you replace the front pads or the rear pads?
Parking brake adjustment
Pull the parking brake lever (A) with 196 N (20.0 kgf, 44.1 lbs.) of force to fully apply the parking brake. The parking brake lever should be locked within the specified number of clicks (B). Lever locked clicks: 6 - 7
Adjust the parking brake if the lever clicks are not within the specification. Adjustment NOTE: After servicing the rear brake shoes, loosen the parking brake adjusting nut, start the engine, and press the brake pedal several times to set the self-adjusting brake before adjusting the parking brake.
