Sunroof Control Unit Input Test

KK, KU and KT models


Remove the headliner.

2.Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the sunroof control unit (B).

3.With the connector still disconnected, make these input tests at the connector.


  • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
  • If all the input tests prove OK, replace the sunroof control unit.

There should be continuity.

  • Poor ground (G401)
  • An open in the wire
1YELIgnition switch ON (II) Check for voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No.3 (7.5A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open in the wire
4LT GRNSunroof fully closed positionCheck for voltage to ground:
There should be continuity.
  • Poor ground (G401)
  • Faulty sunroof open switch
  • An open in the wire
3RED/YELIgnition switch ON (II)Check for voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. 3 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • Faulty sunroof open relay
  • An open in the wire
2GRN/WHTIgnition switch ON (II)Check for voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. 3 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • Faulty sunroof close relay
  • An open in the wire
Connect No. 3 and No. 5 terminals with a jumper wire, then ignition switch ON (II)Check the motor operation:
The motor should run (the sunroof should open).
  • Poor ground (G401)
  • Blown No. 7 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • Blown No. 3 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • Faulty sunroof open relay
  • Faulty sunroof close relay
  • Faulty sunroof motor
  • An open in the wire
Connect No. 2 and No. 5 terminals with a jumper wire, then ignition switch ON (II)Check the motor operation:
The motor should run (the sunroof should close).
