DTC Troubleshooting: P0339 (4)

DTC P0339: CKP Sensor Intermittent Interruption


1.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2.Do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS.

3.Start the engine.

4.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Is DTC P0339 indicated?


YES - Go to 5.


NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CKP sensor and the ECM.n


5.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

6.Check for poor or loose at the following connectors and terminals.


Is it OK?


YES - Go to 7.


NO - Reconnect the connectors or terminals, then go to 9.


7.Check for damage on the CKP sensor pulse plate.

Is the plate damaged?


YES - Replace the CKP sensor pulse plate, then go to 9.n


NO - Go to 8.

Replace the CKP sensor.

9.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

10.Do the ECM RESET in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS.

11.Do the ETCS learn procedure.

12.Start the engine.

13.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?


YES - If DTC P0339 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CKP sensor and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.


NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n
