DTC Troubleshooting: P0113 (10)

DTC P0113: IAT Sensor Circuit High Voltage


1.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2.Check the IAT SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about -45°C (-49°F) or less, or 4.49 V or higher indicated?


YES - Go to 3.


NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the IAT sensor and the ECM.n


3.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

4.Disconnect the IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector.

5.Connect the IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 4 with a jumper wire.

6.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

7.Check the IAT SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about -45°C (-49°F) or less, or 4.49 V or higher indicated?


YES - Go to 8.


NO - Go to 15.

8.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

9.Remove the jumper wire.

10.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

11.Measure voltage between the IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector terminal No. 3 and body ground.

Is there about 5 V?


YES - Repair open in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 31 (test pin box terminal No. 60) and the IAT sensor, then go to 17.


NO - Go to 12.


12.Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 10 seconds.

13.Connect the ECM test harness and the test pin box between the ECM and connector.

14.Measure voltage between test pin box terminal No. 80 and body ground.

Is there about 5 V?


YES - Repair open in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 51 (test pin box terminal No. 80) and the IAT sensor, then go to 17.


NO - Go to 22.

15.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Replace the IAT/MAP sensor.

17.Reconnect all connectors.

18.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

19.Do the ECM RESET in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS.

20.Do the ETCS learn procedure.

21.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?


YES - If DTC P0113 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the IAT sensor and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.


NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n


22.Substitute a known-good ECM.

23.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?


YES - If DTC P0113 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the IAT sensor and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.


NO - Replace the original ECM.n
