DTC Troubleshooting: P0107 (3)

DTC P0107: MAP Sensor Circuit Low Voltage


1.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2.Do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS.

3.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

4.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

5.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Are DTC P0107, P0122, P0222 and P2122 indicated at the same time?


YES - Go to 20.


NO - Go to 6.


6.Open the throttle to full position several times.

7.Check the MAP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about 2.6 kPa (19.5 mmHg, 0.77 in.Hg), or 0.1 V or less indicated?


YES - Go to 8.


NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the ECM.n


8.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

9.Disconnect the IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector.

10.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

11.Measure voltage between IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 4.

Is there about 5 V?


YES - Go to 16.


NO - Go to 12.


12.Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 10 seconds.

13.Connect the ECM test harness and the test pin box between the ECM and connector.

14.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

15.Measure voltage between test pin box terminals No. 46 and No. 60.

Is there about 5 V?


YES - Repair open in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 17 (test pin box terminal No. 46) and the MAP sensor, then go to 30.


NO - Go to 35.


16.Check the MAP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about 2.6 kPa (19.5 mmHg, 0.77 in.Hg), or 0.1 V or less indicated?


YES - Go to 17.


NO - Go to 28.


17.Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 10 seconds.

18.Disconnect ECM connector No. 3 (52P).

19.Check for continuity between IAT/MAP sensor 4P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground.

Is there continuity?


YES - Repair short in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 35 (test pin box terminal No. 64) and the MAP sensor, then go to 30.


NO - Go to 35.


20.Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 10 seconds.

21.Connect the ECM test harness and the test pin box to the wire harness only, not to the ECM.

22.Disconnect the connectors from the these sensors:


23.Check for continuity between body ground and the test pin box terminals No. 33 and No. 46 individually.

Is there continuity?


YES - Repair short in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 4 or No. 17 (test pin box terminal No. 33 or No. 46) and the each sensor, then go to 30.


NO - Go to 24.


24.Connect the ECM test harness to the ECM.

25.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

26.Measure voltage between test pin box terminal No. 46 and body ground.

Is there about 5 V?


YES - Go to 27.


NO - Go to 35.


27.Continue to monitor voltage at the test pin box terminals No. 46 while reconnecting the following sensors, one at a time.

Did the voltage drop to about 0 V?


YES - Replace the sensor that caused the voltage to drop, then go to 30.


NO - Go to 35.


28.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Replace the IAT/MAP sensor.

30.Reconnect all connectors.

31.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

32.Do the ECM RESET in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS.

33.Do the ETCS learn procedure.

34.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?


YES - If DTC P0107 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.


NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n


35.Substitute a known-good ECM.

36.Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?


YES - If DTC P0107 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.


NO - Replace the original ECM.n
