DTC Troubleshooting: 25

DTC 25: Yaw Rate Sensor


1.Check the No. 25 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box, and reinstall the fuse if it is OK.

Is the fuse OK?


YES - Go to 2.


NO - Replace the fuse, and recheck.n


2.Disconnect the yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector.

3.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

4.Measure the voltage between body ground and yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector terminal No. 1.

Is there battery voltage?


YES - Go to 5.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the yaw rate/lateral acceleration sensor and under-dash fuse/relay box.n

5.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

6.Remove the No. 25 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box, and disconnect the VSA control unit 46P connector.

7.Check for continuity between body ground and the yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector terminal No. 1.

Is there continuity?


YES - Repair short to body in the wire between the yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor and under-dash fuse/relay box.n


NO - Go to 8.

8.Check for continuity between body VSA control unit 46P connector terminal No. 39 and the yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector terminal No. 3.

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 9.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the VSA modulator-control unit and yaw rate/lateral acceleration sensor.n

9.Check for continuity between VSA control unit 46P connector terminal No. 38 and the yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector terminal No. 2.

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 10.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the VSA modulator-control unit and yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor.n


10.Substitute a known-good yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor.

11.Reconnect all of disconnected connectors.

12.Clear the DTCs using the HDS.

13.Turn the ignition switch OFF, then turn it ON (II).

14.Verify the DTC.

Is DTC 25 indicated?


YES - Check for loose connector terminals and repair if necessary. Replace the VSA modulator-control unit.n


NO - Replace the original yaw rate/ lateral acceleration sensor.n
