DTC Troubleshooting: 24-4
DTC 24-4: Short to Power in Right Side Seat Belt Outer Lap Tensioner
Special Tools Required
SRS inflator simulator( 07SAZ-TB4011A)

1.Erase the DTC memory.
2.Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator stay on?
YES - Go to 3.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures.n
3.Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.
4.Disconnect the TBR1o connector from the TBR1i connector (A).

5.Connect the special tool (2 W connector) to the TBR1i connector.
6.Reconnect the battery negative cable.
7.Erase the DTC memory.
8.Read the DTC.
Is DTC 24-4 indicated?
YES - Go to 9.
NO - Short to power in the right side seat belt outer lap tensioner; replace the right side seat belt.n
9.Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.
10.Disconnect the both seat belt tensioner 4P connectors from the floor wire harness 4P connectors.
11.Disconnect the TBL1o connector (A) from the TBL1i connector (B).

12.Disconnect the U2o connector (A) from the SRS unit.

13.Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator (special tool) from the SRS simulator lead E.
14.Reconnect the battery negative cable.
15.Turn the ignition switch ON (ll).
16.Check for voltage between each terminal of the SRS simulator lead E and body ground. There should be 0.5 V or less.

Is the voltage as specified?
YES - Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit.n
NO - Short to power in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness.n
