ATF Level Check

NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.

1.Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on).

2.Park the vehicle on level ground, and turn the engine off.

3.Remove the dipstick (yellow loop) (A) from the transmission, and wipe it with clean cloth.

4.Insert the dipstick back into the transmission.

5.Remove the dipstick, and check the fluid level in 60 to 90 seconds after the engine is stopped. It should be between the upper mark (A) and lower mark (B) on the HOT gauge.

NOTE: If the level is above the upper mark (A), drain a extra fluid.

6.If the level is below the lower mark (B), check for fluid leaks at the transmission, ATF cooler hoses, lines, and line joints.

7.Pour genuine Honda ATF-Z1 Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) into the dipstick guide pipe opening (A) to bring it to the upper mark. Always use genuine Honda ATF-Z1, using a non-Honda ATF can affect the shift quality.

8.Insert the dipstick back into its guide pipe.
